Between May 26th and 28th, the largest annual fair for tissue and hygiene products in the Asian country was held in the city of Nanjing, China. The activity, organized by the China National Household Paper Industry Association, (CNHPIA) had the participation of about 95% of the country's industry companies and around 30 thousand attendees.
1-¿What is the role of the Environment Department at CMPC?
CMPC created the Environmental Division, tasked with environmental Compliance and Management. Reporting directly to the CEO, its role is to ensure the highest standard in environmental performance throughout the operations and to make the Company’s new projects and businesses viable, in coherence with its Sustainability Strategy.
During the launch of CMPC’s 2020 Comprehensive Report, the former President of Chile Ricardo Lagos reflected on the economic, social and environmental problems facing the country and highlighted the active role that companies can play in moving beyond this crisis.

On September 15th, 2020, Raimundo Varela was appointed as CEO of CMPC Celulosa. During the nearly 7 years that the executive has been with the company, among other things, he formed the Supply Chain area in the same subsidiary and served as Commercial Director of CMPC Celulosa.
